On this second anniversary of the attack on America, September 11, 2003, all Americans will remember where they were and what they were doing on that fateful morning. I was just getting out of bed and was watching Fox News. Anchor John Scott had announced that a plane had just flown into one of the two towers of the World Trade Center (WTC). He wondered out loud, what could have gone wrong for a plane to fly into the WTC because the skies were clear. I remember him saying something like; "we are watching videotape of this horrible tragedy" when he stopped himself and said, "no this is live a second plane, a second plane has just hit tower two of the World Trade Center, we are under attack!" With that statement I knew that we were at war and this was the just beginning. I stayed glued to the television and also heard of the attack on the Pentagon and then the downing of an airliner in Pennsylvania. News reports were that the Federal Aviation Association was shutting down air traffic nationwide. President Bush was rushed out of a meeting with students at a school in Florida. As I watched the more shocking it became. I got to the point that I just needed a break from the coverage so I decided to take Shadow (one of my dogs) for a walk. We went outside and I looked at the sky, which was a royal blue color and not a cloud or a jet stream to be seen. That peaceful sky and warm sun seemed to bring to the forefront that God had to have been watching all of this. So I stopped and asked God to watch out for those who had been attacked. I also prayed for our country and President Bush.

In the days that followed the attack President Bush took the responsibility and the reigns of the country and gathered Congress together and declared war on terrorism. The declaration passed the house and received only one vote against the declaration in the Senate.

There are now those saying that President Bush should not be acting like a bully or a gang leader.  They are also saying that our President should be working more closely with the United Nations. President Bush has been doing just about everything perfect. The only thing I disagree with the President is that he is trying to work with the U.N. The U.N. slowed the attack on Afghanistan, which may have given Usama bin Laden and his goon’s time to escape.  The U.N. seemed to be so anti-American on the war with Iraq that I would not have been surprised to see them ignore the U.S. collation and put their own troops on the ground just to defy the United States.

With all of this said it seems to me that the Axis of Evil, the French, Germans and the Democratic National Committee (DNC) are the true enemy’s of these United States of America. In summary, you are either with us or against us in this battle against terror.

Sincerely,

Jim Gibb
